Found a trade I was happy with for my Ernie Ball Music Man Axis. This Fender American Vintage '72 Telecaster Thinline plus some cash came my way :) I believe these were a Fender Special Run for a limited few years. Made in Corona California, vintage style frets, 7.5" radius, very nice wide range humbuckers, and string-through body.

Nice guitar.
How do you like the 7.5 radius?
I was also wondering if that had a C neck.
Hope you enjoy her!
I wasn't sure if I would like the radius until I tried it but it plays fine for me. I'm far more used to Gretsch style 12" radius. That may say more about my (lack of) skill level than anything else :)
I would call it a C profile neck but it feels like it plays thinner with the radius.

I only have two small issues. One is a common telecaster thing I believe, the location of the pickup switch (that I keep accidentally hitting). And the other is the 'vintage' fret wire - I lean towards jumbo-size frets.

Certainly no showstoppers, I expect to keep it.

Very nice indeed. I like and prefer the 7.25 radius myself so if ever you decide to part with it.......Enjoy.
I have proven in the past not to be a telecaster guy so it might happen - I have sold every other telecaster I ever had...
although I also keep believing that everyone needs at least one telecaster :)

The stock pups in the current Fender guitars are essentially a conventional humbucker in a WR housing. The originals used CuNiFe polepieces (similar to a Strat pup) vs. bar magnets on the various RIs (ceramic in the MIMs & some type of AlNiCo in the higher end models).

This appears to be the closest thing to the real deal, although at that price you're probably not far off from getting vintage pickups or even a guitar (vs. buying an AVRI & doing the upgrades).
