My first PRS. 2003, started life at The Guitar Shop in Mississauga and last seen in Peace River, Alta (thanks Pat!). Never owned one before but always intrigued by their build quality and "prettiness". Also figured it was time to determine whether I was in the "Love them" or "Hate them" camp.

Well, so far I'm loving her and she'll get a good workout with practice tonight and back-to-back gigs on the weekend.

Great colour. Did you replace the bridge humbucker?
She's all stock. The previous owner had a Dimarzio in the bridge (I believe) but I wanted to start all original. I know that the Dragon II's are not universally loved.

I am pretty much a classic rock kinda guy. I have Burstbucker Pros in my LP and quite like them. Do you or anyone else have any favourites they'd like to recommend?

I swapped dragon II's out for SD 59's and at first the difference wasnt that big. Play with pickup height and see if that does it for you.
I'll give it a chance first. I had the JB/59 combo in my Tokai for awhile and came to the conclusion that sometimes "stock" is better. As you say, a few tweaks may be in order first.

As I've stated many times in the past I'm not a fan of PRS pickups, other than the ones in the DGT. I've had a pair of WCR Shredders (unobtanium these days) in the Cu24 above for many years and still love them. I recently plopped them in the Bernie Marsden with the same result, outstanding pickups. I also have a pair of Darkburst/Godwoods in my #1 LP from Jim (WCR) that will likely never come out. I am a fan of Lollar Imperials also, and these can be had pretty easily for not a lot of $ as boutique pups go these days.

btw WCR is now listed as JWP - Jim Wagner Pickups.

It's a PRS. What can I say except it's a beauty!
