i ordered a RedPlate in February and received it yesterday - after a few hours of dialing in tones, very happy with this beast. EL34 platform, FX loop, a few voicing switches for single coil or LP type guitars. The clean tones are phenomenal. My Les Paul just sang with gorgeous bell like tones. The OD channel as well - in the Dumble camp of tones but it can get aggressive Marshall tones as well. I had it set with medium gain (gain and Drive set at 10 o'clock) and just a beautiful lead tone. Plenty loud with 50W and 18W switch (not much of a difference between the two settings). I am having an issue in the lower registers - a few of the notes on the low E produce a microphonic or rattle/fuzz type tone. It may be a tube and noticed it more today.

Picked up the DGT today - wow, great guitar. I thought the neck carve might be a challenge (I've owned a few but couldn't remember) but it feels great. PHAT sounding guitar with clarity. It might give my Les Paul a run. Plays like butte.....great! : - )

All in all, a great gear day(s)

Ps. The holiday festive color scheme was not intentional.

Great score Alex. I do not know much about Red Plate amps but that DGT look's great. IMHO the best all around guitar from PRS.

Congrats and enjoy.

The DGT is really nice - 7.6 lbs, resonant, Tight and fat bass. Sounds killer. Some glam shots; the darkback works well with the gold

Awesome. I love DGT's but can't get along with the neck carve. I've tried 3 times LOL.
I've owned a few as well and that was usually my excuse - either my tastes have changed or the neck on this one is a bit different. It seems wider than I remember (I have been playing my Strat a lot lately which has the same nut width) and it also has a good amount of chunk which I like.

Yes, it's a strange thing, the only PRS neck I haven't got along with. I have the same issue with a few Gibbies, mostly SG's. I think it's peculiar to my grip, it can feel like the high E string is cutting into the flesh of my index finger when playing barre chords. Very strange.

Very nice, Alex.

There a quite a few boutique amps I'd love to try, Redplate being one of them. But being as no one here sells them and I'm not a 'buy and sell' kinda guy (and my funds are limited), I just have to live vicariously through others. Like you. I'm always happy to hear someone real talk about this kind of gear - like a good movie revue.

I would love to find another goldtop DGT like my old #1, but a pound or so lighter ideally. Congrats on the new toys, man!

This one at 7.6lbs is perfect for me. Mid 7's usually works best for me for double cutaway guitars. Willcutt Guitars has one that just came in that's suppose to be nice as well (not on the website yet). I'm very impressed with this Goldtop - great vibe and sound.

On another note, the rattling fuzz issue with the amp is now identified - I sat on my amp while playing and there is no issue. It appears the tubes are rattling against the grid. Any suggestions on an easy fix? Cheers
