Hello all!!! Just new to this site and I thought I might throw a question out there and see if anyone might be able to help me. I have a beautiful Strat. style Newsom guitar. I think it's a one off custom order. It says Newsom on the headstock, and Super Chet on the truss rod cover. I can't seem to find a website. Anyone have any suggestions on how I might find out more info, or does anyone else have one of these beauties?

They were made just west of London ON (near Arkona I think, I was there once a long time ago) by a guy who used to post here (lowtones). He made a bunch of guitars, I believe he used a CNC to mill them out and then lots of good parts and hand work. I'm not sure what ever happened to him, he was starting out building guitars with plans for it to be his retirement hobby/business. They were built really well though. I have one of his shirts. He used to joke that he sold $2000 t-shirts, and if you bought one he would throw in a free guitar.

Mark's a good friend who I used to work with and we played together for quite a few years. We've lost touch since I retired and I'm not sure if he's still doing any building. Last time I saw him he was getting into building Uke's ;-) He likely still plays in a bluegrass band around Strathroy and as Jim mentioned he lives out near Parkhill/Arkona, really nice property. I will also add that his wife makes the BEST apple pie in the world :)

I still have this guitar, it was his first attempt at a set neck.

btw you'll get a lot more feedback if you post this in the Electric Guitars section.

his contact email used to be [email protected] ... from the Strathroy, Ont area I think. Amazing artisan craftsmanship

I have a Newsom 'V', (originally called the "Warbird") . . . I don't know how many Mark made, but it's got attitude ... a real beauty.
I saved some gallery pics from his former website, but can't figure out how to post them here ... *sigh* alas, I am a technophobe Luddite relic.

I think you have to be a paid member to post from your home storage drive or computer. The other option is to upload the pictures to a photo storage website and then you can post them from there.

Thanks ... I'll give option #2 a try, but it may be a while before I can find someone to give me a hand figuring it out (?!?!)
When I describe myself as a technophobe Luddite relic it's not fer giggles . . . it's the sad, wretched shameful truth.

There are also some issues with this forum. If you go to load something and the timer thing in the top right keeps cycling on and on it may be the site. If you cannot see a picture but it says [ IMG ] there is an issue with the https vs http in the top status bar. The site makes everything posted https. If the picture you are linking to is hosted on a page that is only http, the forum adds the s to the http so then the link is broken. You can edid out the s if you want to view the picture. Sorry if this is confusing. There are threads about it.

I remember Mark making that V, always wondered where it ended up. It looked awesome. If you want to email me some pics I'll post them for you. I'll PM you my email address.
