Hi . . . I'm new to this forum, and newish to guitars. I've been a drummer and synthesist for years, and have had a guitar around for most of those years, but only just started really learning to play this February. It just hit me one day out of the blue that I had to pickup that old Tokai that had been hanging on my studio wall for a decade, and write a song . . . might have been the month long Brian Jonestown Massacre binge I'd been on.

A few months later and I'm hooked, hooked, hooked - gotta get an hour or two of playing in every day, and am having a blast writing songs.

I somehow ended up here a couple days ago whereupon I discovered that my beloved Tokai is actually my beloved Fakai. (See here: My Fakai.) I've also picked up a Casio MG-500 to marry my new guitar obsession with my old synthesizer obsession via the wonders of MIDI.

Pleasure to meet y'all.

Ha! You know it - I've already posted a WTB in the Buy&Sell section!

While a newbie to guitar, as a vintage synthesizer (and home studio) nerd I'm no newbie to GAS! This is just more GAS! Or a new and extra-seductive brand of GAS . . .

After a couple years of home studio noodling I decided, as an experiment, to try taking a track through the whole process by myself (except the writing of course!). Arranging, playing, singing, recording, engineering, mixing, mastering . . . for better or worse, all me. It was a valuable experience. To be honest the part that shocked me the most was just how hard singing is. I have under-appreciated that craft and skill for years - not anymore!
I released it on my shared birthday with Bowie a year and a half-ago.
