I purchased this for my Telecaster Deluxe, and while cool, it didn't sound the way I wanted it to with my Wide Range Humbuckers. Would sound better with traditional humbuckers, as intended. This is a proper Varitone circuit with the choke (the lump attached to the wire). I researched high and low before getting this: Gibson no longer puts Varitones in their ES-345s, which doesn't make sense to me because it is a defining feature of that particular model.
Installed only briefly, no wires were cut. VERY easy to install. Essentially brand new. Paid $80 to get it to my door, will sell for $50 for local pickup in Toronto, or $60 mailed in Canada.
