In an attempt to reduce the sheer amount of stuff kicking around the lesson studio, I dealt the YCV50blue, it's matching cab, the YCV20, and a 2x12 Saxon cab. In their place I got a YCV40WR with matching cab. I'll leave the original speakers in for the time being, but generally these days I end up replacing speakers with hemp cones. I haven't ordered covers from www.coveramp.com yet but I will eventually (the Traynors I dealt had covers), they're awesome.

First new tube amp for me in many years.

The blue was excellent, and still had some marketability/trade/resale value as I'd looked after it well. The WR is just as good, slightly smaller, brand new, and sometimes "a change is as good as a rest". After only a day I find it's closer in tone to the YCV20 than the YCV50, which suits me fine, they're all great amps, but this new one is hardly broken in yet so it's kind of hard to tell. The store floor units I've tried were uniformly excellent so I trust mine will be also.
