I received this Tokai Love Rock last Friday. SneakyPete sold it to me and he's a great guy to deal with. It only took a week to get here from Japan. BTW it sounds and plays as good as it looks.

It depends on the brand. Tokais are probably the best known of the lot so they *generally* tend to be a little pricier than the lesser known brands but it depends on the type of wood, materials, etc.

wow...are guitars cheap to buy in Japan or something? I know a few people in Japan...maybe I should start a business haha

Thanks PaulS. I also have a Tokai Springysound and a Tokai Goldstar Sound. I originally bought the Goldstar Sound back around 1985 for $250.00 including the case whereas with the Springysound I traded a Tele clone and some cash for it around 1994 or so at the 12th Fret.

Nice aquisition... they are certainly a lovely guitar... I have two...:food-smiley-004:

thank you gents. Seems a lot of us have similar taste in guitars, personally I buy what interests me not the latest fashion and I don`t worry about what folks are gonna say about em...or me...as evidenced by these two...
a 1983 and a 1985...FJs by the way...

sneakypete, I always wondered why a a person located in Japan would be posting on a Canadian guitar forum? Are you a Canuck permanently residing overseas or do you just find Canadian folks interesting? :D

All kidding aside, I would love to live in Japan, if not permanently, then perhaps for a few months just to live the experience. Who knows where a couple of weeks will take me once I'm finally done with teachers, textbooks, and dirty looks...

Thanks Auger. I've been a Tokai fan since the mid 80's and I own two other Tokais that are Strat copies. They're nice playing guitars and they're *still* pretty reasonably priced but they're more expensive than they were when they were relatively undiscovered. BTW this one was very reasonably priced.

hey Kenmac....
thats a really nice looking guitar....
though I have never played a tokais...she looks like a player....
congrats on the purchase......

I agree with you 100% bRian. Pete gave me a great deal on this one and the shipping only took a week. Everything went along very smoothly.

Beautiful guitar, Pete has impeccable taste when it comes to geetars. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him.:smilie_flagge17:
