Man....this sucks. I have a very active brain. I always have a song in my head. I cannot silence the radio in my brain.
But....I just realized, whatever song is playing, I only can listen to one track.

I can listen to the bass, or the guitar, or the vocals. I can't hear a song in my head and hear the whole band.
If I focus on it, it makes my head hurt and my anxiety level skyrocket.
I don't know why I all of the sudden noticed this. No matter what song, I can only hear one track in my head.

Give it a try.....

How about you guys? Can you hear all the band in your head???
Any ideas on how to turn off the radio in my brain???

here is the current song I can't get out of my head. I like it as the vocals are very prominent. But, when it plays in my head, I can't hear the guitar.
AAARRGGGG!!!!!!!

You are only listening to one thing at a time. It's the power of your mind and the power of 7our own suggestion/surprise observation. When you noticed it happening, you focused on it....maybe thinking, "hey, am I ....?" Yes, I am only hearing one...."

The anxiety comes from not controlling your own mild self-hypnosis.

Your suggestion affected me. I even had a hard time finding a song in my head. Then I found it difficult to hear more than one instrument myself. Then I thought of a way I could hear it, and then I did.

i have had tinitus since i was a little kid. i can't remember not having it. i was 12 before i realized...most people don't hear those crickets. i think that may be the reason there is music in my head 100% of the time. if i am listening to or playing music, that is what is in my head. but when i'm not, no matter what else i may be doing or feeling, there is music in my head. i can tell you the music in my head during specific events in my life, while experiencing any emotion you can care to name, or any activity a human might engage in.
sometimes it's other people's music. most of the time, probably 85% of the time, it is random music generated in my head. alot of it isn't rock. at any given moment it could be a song with tubas, bells, and trombones. it could be a rap song or a dancing sort of song, or an entire orchestra. sometimes it's rock, and it's pretty bad-ass. i hear it as i type this right now.

I have tinitus pretty bad as well. I always have music in my head. Its never quiet. I wonder if there is a relationship. I had a talk with my Doctor about tinitus, he said if anyone comes up with a cure, they will be a billionaire.

I kind of read two subjects here.

Tinnitus is generally a noise of quite a constant frequency. Could apparently be helped with some dampening device, like a miniature Bose system, I guess. ENT specialist interested in deafness may give better info than I.

Separating tracks. As I became interested in making my own tabs last year, I got shocked when I realized that the lyrics rarely follow the music ! Believe it or not, I realized how far I was from listening to the music behind the singer ! I then tried to hear the base and the drums to help with the tempo and the base line and then the riff and lead to catch some melody besides the voice. Not easy to do ! There is often quite a confusion in my mind about what I should actually decipher from what I kind of hear.

If you actually succeed in separating all the instruments, could you post the tabs, please ?
