I've played a few guitars with the type of heel. May hand, a small hand, like this type for accessing the higher frets. I hook my thumb over the top of the neck, so this is better for me than a single cut (not a particularly good habit some say). My hand protests when I try to noodle on the high frets with a Les Paul.

So do I. I have this type of heel on my Jackson; it is very comfortable. On a LP or Strat, I need to have the thumb very low under the neck to be able to reach the higher frets. That's kind of akward!

Nevertheless, I play the LP and Strat more for other reasons!:rockon2:
