Hi guys,

So I have these 2 guitars, Epiphone Les Paul Tribute and Epiphone Explorer 1984. I am as they call it a new immigrant and landing in the coming months.

I have been reading about CITES and everything, but it is so confusing that I thought to ask here. I know for a fact that if you carry a guitar by hand it should be easier without any problem at customs. But how can I be sure? Will the agent know the type of Rosewood on the guitars, or will he just let it pass without asking about it.

Both guitars were bought in Greece in 2015. Any help, ideas, experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

As I understand CITES, if it is your personal belonging NOT for trade or sell, and you bring them while moving, there should not be any problem.

Welcome !

You will be asked to declare your personal belongings you are bringing in (whether these are with you when you land or will follow through another means of shipment). You will not be taxed on the items on that list.
