From one end connector to the springs to the other, there's no continuity. Can that simple reverb tank be dead ? Visually, nothing seem broken. I know new ones are cheap, but still ... Not worth trying to fix it ?

You won't get continuity through the tank ever. The coils on either side of the springs are transducers (i.e. just like the motor of a speaker or microphone, which are essentially the same device specialised for different purposes). The input transducer converts the signal to motion (like a speaker) and the output transducer converts motion to signal (like a microphone).

You have the spec number so you know what the in and out impedence (Z) should be. Get the resistance of both transducers (measure across each jack, tip to sleeve) and they should be lower than the rated Z, like half to 3/4, I forget.

That's a relatively recent Accutronics tank. My guess is the output coil is open. Common problem with them.
Actually no, I bought a 2004 Blues Jr that was reconditioned, caps, tubes and reverb. Seller gave all the old parts. This is the reverb. As you can see, it might have been mistreated in that plastic bag.

You can only have a reeding between + and - on each RCA connector. Transducer wire are there
Ah ... thanks. I just tried that and one end has no reading. It think it has kicked the bucket ...

Yes, the tank is not connected. Readings done off the RCA ± prongs inside the tank.

Thanks all, I'll order one.
Those Accoutronics tanks were redesigned at some point and many fail in the same way...usually the output coil. I can't tell you how many I've replaced in the time I've been a tech. They're junk especially compared to the earlier Accutonics, Gibbs and Hammond tanks. Those will last for decades....with the odd wire reconnect to the RCA jack. ;)

I need it for my little 15W combo that will never get out of the studio. Buying the same can't be that risky ?

The MOD tanks and Belton (Formerly Accutronics) tanks are the one's I usually get now. They seem to be ok. That said, a far cry from the older tanks. I hoard old tanks from the '60's and '70's when I can. They're very reliable and somewhat more repairable.
