noticed on monday that one of the neck pickup screws was missing on my EPI.
this is not a mounting screw, but one of 2 adjustment screws.
later I found a screw nearby that is possibly the missing one. Having never messed with pickups, can I just try and thread the screw (if it is in fact the missing one) back into the hole, or is there a special procedure?
the strings are still on the guitar.
Help appreciated.
thanks

yeah im pretty sure you can just thread it back in. the screw goes through the pickup ring, through a spring, and then into the pickup's base plate thing...shouldn't hurt anything...

Thanks G-Z

will hopefully have time to look at tonight. The pickup has "sunk" on the side the screw is missing.
cheers

the spring has probably popped, so you'll likely have to pull the pickup to get it back together.

Unfortuneatly dwagar is right, the spring will have shifted and the screw will not be able to go through it. Sometimes you can take enough tension off the strings without removing them and be able to take the pickup out and replace the screw/spring. Good luck..

The spring fell out and stuck itself to the pickup. Take the pickup out, pull the spring off it and put it back to normal.
