I run across this all the time, and for the life of me can't figure out why people will take a picture of their for sale item, then take a screenshot of it to post it in their for sale ad. It's actually more work than to post the actual photo, and the results suck (and don't get me started about people who don't take the "Created with my iPhone 11" watermark off their pictures). For example:

I often go to the gallery app (on Android, or Photos on iPhone) and select a bunch of pictures, then use Outlook to email them to myself. Outlook gives you the option to reduce the image size, which will let you send a whole bunch at once and is usually ok. Here's the same photo with reduced image quality (280 kb).
Most websites will compress photos or shrink them - Kijiji is the worst offender, but this site does the same. Still, if you're trying to show something detailed like a headstock crack, fret wear, etc it's best to start with the highest quality uncompressed image you have. Here's the same image sent with Outlook with no image size reduction (2.5 mb) - it makes a difference if you zoom in on the images.
OK, end of rant.
