Depends on how you'll use the pickup, I guess. Many only use the middle pickup in an HSH to give quack to the other positions. I, however, like the use the middle position alone and thus like a medium output Strat style pickup. I'm also tempted to try out a Strat sized P90 type pickup in the middle of mine.
Middle Pickup Considerations/Suggestions?

I am new to the world of modding (and also still new to guitar in general), and was looking for help upgrading my middle my pickup.
A couple months back, I purchased an Ibanez Jem Jr (HSH setup) as a secondary guitar that I can upgrade over time. I did a bunch of research and just ordered Gravity Storm pickups for the neck and bridge because I really like the sound profile, and I mostly play hard rock.
At the same time, I also want to upgrade the middle pickup. However, I never really use the middle, and don't really know what I should put there.
I am looking for something that will help make the guitar more versatile in the styles of music it can play.
Does anyone have any ideas on things I need to consider or specific pickup suggestions?

I am looking to do both if possible: I would like to add something different to the neck/bridge (positions 2 and 4), as well as using the middle pickup to play with a distinct sound on its own.
I have been looking around and am thinking that the Dimarzio Fast Track 1 is a good option - appears to complement the humbuckers. But since I am new to this, I am not really sure if I am missing something.
