Remembering back when Jesse Ventura started calling him 'Mean' Gene, he always played the perfect straight faced announcer.

Yeah, it was his "earnest interviewer" persona that made the outrageousness of the wrestlers' comments all the more outrageous. He was the Dean Martin to their Jerry Lewis, the Dan Rowan to their Dick Martin, the Bud Abbott to their Lou Costello. That moustache was his signature.

A true gentleman with some classic interviews; the Hulkster, Macho Man, Mr. Perfect, Jake the Snake, Andre, Rowdy Roddy,and so many others. What an era...Saturday morning and then once a month I believe that evening's Main Event. RIP and thanks for the entertainment.
