I made two 12 foot cables, Mogami Gold with neutrik silent plugs. I also bought some 1/4 inch tech flex to brighten up the cable a bit and add some extra protective cover for wear. All blue cables are guitar, later ill be making a few red speaker cables. Comes in quite a few colors and patterns, costs about 6 bucks for 25 feet of the cable coverimg

I wish I could find it in Canada. I found a place in the US with decent shipping.

Putting the tech flex on 12 feet takes longer than soldering the jacks. I also have a coax stripper which is adjustable so stripping the cable is a breeze. Probably about 50 maybe 60 per cable. The one cable only has one silent jack so it's a few bucks cheaper.
The tech flex is a 12 foot Chinese finger trap LOL

I find that sometimes a silent at the other end helps. Especially between the amp and pedal board. I unplug and plug into that quite often and the loud pops are annoying

I have had the same idea, and have owned the same input jacks since Noise Supply was around. My soldering abilities have kept me from making a cable like that. I also picked up a Pivotall jack to try.

Nice looking cables!...Congrats!

Where did you get the Mogami cable from and what does the "Gold" offer over the regular?

I'm asking because I bought 400 feet (200 feet on two separate occasions)
of the Mogami 2524 from a supplier in Quebec in the past.

Cheers

Mogami 2524 is the gold cable. IIRC 3368 is platinum. Got it on eBay 1.30 foot plus shipping

... what is a silent plug ?
There is a metal sleeve that causes the cable to short when not plugged in. When you plug in, the sleeve moves and the short is gone. No pops when you plug or unplug

I was doing a bit of research and the difference in cable capacitance between Gold and platinum is huge. I found a chart of the top 40 guitar cables and regular Mogami gold is almost at the bottom of the list. Not much better than Belden coax. Values are per meter

Mogami 2319 (pedal cable) 155pF
Mogami 2524 (Gold) 130pF cheapest price 1.30 to 2.50/foot plus shipping
Mogami 3368 (Platinum) 70pF around 10 - 15 dollars per meter or 3-5 per foot plus shipping

Van Damme Pro Grade Classic XKE ~90pF just grabbed 3 meters for less than 20 shipped!! (i'll let you know if I can tell the difference. )

George L .155/.255 only 67pF !! .now I know why people love George L patch cables.
