Looking for a Bakelite Tele Pickguard

I see the pricing is high for these, you could buy a regular black guard and route it for the P90 yourself...

I really want to try a single ply Bakelite, I have plain black already. Vision Guitar has them already made for 40 US and then shipping of course but I feel like that is reasonable. What do you think?

Well the material is cheap but it has to be cut and lacquered so that price seems about right to me... I was just thinking if they want a pile extra for a P90 cut out it's easy to do that part yourself, so if Bakelite with a regular neck pup route is cheaper, that may be the way to go.

Either way I like a nice Bakelite guard.

It's apparently a pain to work with though, and last I heard it was getting hard to come by.

I had Mojo Axe make me a custom pick guard, it was expensive, but i supplied all the dimensions to fit my Japanese Greco. Fit like a glove

I had someone on another forum suggest I buy a sheet and make some, sell the extras, but I just don't have the time. They even provided a step by step thread.
another lazy Saturday and a piuece or Garolite..

The standard Bakelite guards seem to be the same price as the p90's so no point in buying one and routing it. If I don't hear from Tony tomorrow I'm going to order from Vision.

I'll take you up on that, thank you. I ordered one from Vision Guitar which I found online, they had them already made and in stock. It would be good to compare it with the scan as well.
