But have you really got it? Barre it and pluck each string to see if any mute. If none mute then nice going. You are in a class with just a few others. I gave up years ago and play x33211.
Yes I have got it! I have had this chord under wraps for quite a few years now. That particular chord is in The House of the rising sun which our band plays.

Your mistake(no offence intended) was giving up! I never give up. That's the difference between those who can and those who can't. Perseverance is my middle name. I owe it to myself and my playing to keep trying! Hence sweating over the You shook me all night long solo which took me 3 years to be able to play. And now, I can whip it off whenever the occasion arises!

Overcoming obstacles gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment. Honestly, there's no better feeling that even comes close in comparison!

Not to brag, but I can actually play the F barre chord easily,... and x33211,... no problem (yes, I am bragging I guess) But the F7 barre chord 131211, the D string does a 'thunk'. That little groove between the tip and middle of the index finger, that is were the string is, and I can't fret the note hard enough unless I REALLY press hard. I can also shift that finger towards the low E, but that is awkward right now. STooPid short finger.

i disagree, partially. he's not a nice guy for sure. and he's no yngwie. but he can play ok. at least as good as most guys you'll find at an open mic
Yeah, I gotta go with cheezy on this one. Open mic blues jam for sure. That's about all I can do myself. He uses his fingers instead of a pick, but his dynamics were very limited, definitely no Jeff Beck :) There are couple of parody clips where some guy edited the vid so that Seagal only repeats the same three notes for a minute and a half
