I just saw this in an emailed news update.
Sad news--He was one of the best.

Condolences to his family & friends.

Saw him open for Janis Joplin at the Montreal Forum in the autumn of 1969. Just what a Chicago blues musician needed with a light show is beyond me, but I guess it was the times. Hell of a showman, helluva show, helluva legacy. RIP
