Yeah I really liked that band when I was a boy! Waayyyyy back in the day. Still enjoy those tunes from time to time.

A great guitarist and an amazing live band. They were huge on Detroit rock radio and concert scene. Their shows at Cobo Arena were legendary.

In the 70's they would come up to Montreal to play the New Penelope coffee house. So would the Steve Miller Band. Hard to believe.

One of the main characters on the comedy show Angie Tribeca is Officer Jay Geils; a name I can only imagine is in tribute to afavourite of somebody on the production or writing team.

Great band. Great career. Great loss. RIP

There's gonna be just too damn many special tribute issues of guitar magazines this year.

It's unfortunate that all those great musicians will be gone in a few short years. Except maybe Keet...

I haven't even thought about the J. Geils band in years but used to listen to the all the time.
