They make you test generic medecine for side effetcs . You sem to be paid more for the time spent and the blood tests than for the risk factor... I'm a student , and work only during summer , and I made only 2500 $ this summer , so 1000-2000 more wouldn't hurt .

Any thoughts ?

You need to remember that 'generic drug' is not necessarily over the counter medication. It could be anything from antihistamines to cancer medication. You need to call them up and ask about the specific drug trials and read up as much as you can on the medication being tested.

And if the drug that you test causes liver or kidney problems that plauge you for the rest of your life?? I'm sure you will have to sign a waver releaseing them from all liability, so you would have no recourse.

Ask them how many of the companies employees kids are getting paid to allow them to test the drugs on them, I bet the answer is zero. That should tell you something.

Hah, I'd just go grab a job at Wal-Mart or some shit... the one around here is always hiring people to stock shelves. So as long as you can lift like 50 pounds you're in, lol.

I know a few people who have done drug trials. There's a lot of them in London and it's one of the common ways that friends have funded their travels around Europe. By the time something gets tested on humans it has already been tested extensively on animals. All of my friends who have done it have had no problems at all, and many of them have done it several times.

Animals and humans are very different, they react differently to certain chemicals: chocolate will kill a dog, catnip makes cats behave as if they are on smack, and drugs that work perfectly fine on monkeys could make people swell up like the Michelin man...

But, that's besides the point since they test generic drugs (hopefully not manufactured in China). I think they let you know which drugs you will be taking so that you can make up your decision...You just won't know if you'll be given a placebo. So, it could still be risky, but at least they don't keep you in the dark.

Yes, and death is always a possibility since some people are severely allergic to otherwise harmless drugs. They don't mention that in their FAQ, do they? You have to call them and visit their office to find out about that. Notice how all the pictures on the site are of attractive healthy-looking and non-threatening young women but gives little information but the potential financial gains?

If youd be a good guinea pig for a few bucks, what would you do for a million?

Its bad enough we sheep have to work just to survive. Why subject your body to potential harm, if you want to do that take up extyreme sports like skydiving or hang gliding at least thats fun.

Never do anything for money you wouldn't do for free.

About the " just get a job" : I'll be going to university , so I don't think it's a great idea to get a job at the same time . I play in a band , workout and do a bit of sports to stay in shape , and I really don't want to just work and study 24/7 . My parents are paing for school and food , but right now I have about 1000$ for " fun " things , so 1000-2000$ would mean a lot more fun this year .

I wouldn't even consider it if I had a real job , but in the current situation... I think it's at least worth a call and some more investigation .

You're not really citing THE SUN as a legitimate source of NEWS are you?!?!?!

It's tabloid trash!

Not surprising seeing as how you obviously don't know much.... like WHY chocolate can kill a dog.... or HOW catnip affects cats....

Drugs are GREAT... with enough drugs it's o.k. for someone to have open heart surgery!

I know it's tabloid trash, but that story was all over the media. It's a legitimate story. The Sun's article just happened to be the first one I found when I Googled "swollen heads drug testing", or something like that.
