after playing the sr506, i'm never going to play my yamaha 4-string anymore. It just sounds so dead. So im wondering if its worth putting new pups in it, or selling it and just getting a new bass with better pups.

What do you think? I also don't really like how it plays. Im thinking of getting another 4-string or 5-string Ibanez. The 506 is just so freaking amazing.

I'd say sell it. If you really enjoyed the way the bass felt and played, but just wanted to spruce up the sound, I'd say go for it, but it sounds like you'd be better served by getting something else instead.
Perhaps an Ibby BTB1205? SRX705?

Maybe you should join the SX club?
