HI, I need help to price my old lady J50 from 1960. It's a guitar that has had a lot of experience, I actually learned to play with this guitar in 1963 on my mom's knees. It was repaired and refinished over 20 years ago. Several cracks in front and back as well as the soundhole were repaired at the time. The cracks that you can see on pics have been repaired already. I also know that the pickguard and the tuners were changed, for the bridge as it is a year of transition I cannot certify if it is the original or not (let say it's not). My father also had a pickup installed more than thirty years ago, the kind of pickup that plugs in using the button on the strap.

On the other hand it is a guitar that has an incredible sound, despite its less than perfect condition, this has an amazing voice,
projecting warm, rich, woody tones and it never goes out of tune.

It can be sit in the closet for over a year and it is always ready to play,
As I don't have any descendant musicians and soon I won't be able to play any more, if not very little, this guitar needs to be played
and another guitarist will appreciate it, at least I hope so.

Information on the cosmetic is hard to find so any help will be great and appreciate for the 63 years old lady.

Thanks

P.S: I have lots of pictures if necessary.

Beautiful guitar. At the risk of staying the obvious, I'd suggest taking it to a trusted local store or - if none come to mind - sending the photos to a place like the twelfth fret or folkway music for an appraisal.

Good luck with it - I'll watch with interest where you price it!

This is what I would do. If you know you want to sell, you may be better off to consign it.

Thanks for your help, I'll bring it to a Luthier to make sure that everything if perfect before put it for sale. If interested just let me know.
