Does anyone know how to save stuff you see on you tube? I often see things that are simply cool or that I could use while lecturing, but I don't know how to save them!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There are ways to convert the videos, but they are pretty poor quality in the first place due to the .flv conversion, so converting them again makes it worse.

You can do a search for 'conver lfv to divx'. It's a pretty involved process though.

Hey, that's awesome!!! Thanks.

Now I just need to find a way to play the files I download. The FLV player doesn't work on my system because I am stuck with Windows ME (puke).

Any ideas?

Just drag the flv file into an Internet Explorer or Firefox window. That should play it, since it's the way you got the video in the first place.

I am not sure if it will play FLV files (I don't have any on hand to test with) but I agree with TheTallCoolOne that VLC player would be an excellent first choice. It plays pretty much anything you through at it, is ad/spyware free, has a tiny footprint and is not too costly at $0.00.
