First, I gotta say I'm not affiliated with this store at all but it's hard to shop canadian when you see prices like this!

Got to love this price for a Gibson SG Special Faded. $486.25 U.S :rockon2:

Maybe Gibson is lowering their price? Maybe music123 just has a bunch? Hard to resist a SG or V for under $500 new, crappy faded finish or not.

I think it's because the faded has been discontinued. Good riddance, I say. I always found it annoying that they charged full price for half of a proper finish. Haha. That's a good deal for that guitar though.

Music123 has crazy deals like that once in a while. They ship UPS though and you get creamed with brokerage (or I did the last time I ordered from them).

The faded models were always quite a bit cheaper up here. Not under a grand though that I recall.

Yeah, that's why I never order stuff from the US. I wish that Canada had places like Music123 and sites like that. Unfortunately, I just don't think the market could support something like that.

It really is a great guitar. Check out the Elitist series if you have the chance and compare it side by side with a Gibson Standard. When I went down to buy this guitar, I tested it side by side with a Gibson 61 reissue. Both guitar were equal in tone and feel. The price and finish of the Elitist beat out the Gibson.
I still may buy a Gibson standard though. Black.
