Has anybody here tried any of them yet? I am seriously considering buying the hardtail, and so I was wondering if anybody here actually owns one and what they thought of it.

I dont doubt the quality of your guitars or anything, I just wanted to see if anybody else owned them.

I agree, the only thing is, I would have to sell a few of my treasured belongings and seeing as the best guitar I have right now is a squier strat, I cant afford to spend even 350$ on a guitar and not get a really good one. I know Im asking for a lot of guitar for a small amount of money, but I feel I have advanced (been playing about 6 years) to the point where my guitar is limiting me. I really need a guitar with good frets and a good neck that will allow me to play well.

To me, buying a fixed bridge guitar would be limiting you even more... there's so much you can do with a floating bridge that you can't with a fixed.

Check these out:

Great for the money, maybe replace the pickups and you're set. I know someone who shreds the hell out of his RG370, lol. After playing his, I actually bought that axe a week ago, just arrived at the shop today so I'm pickin' her up tomorrow.

Jumbo frets make bending / vibrato easier, floating trem for all them whammy tricks, neck is nice and fast, basswood body gives a nice bright tone, etc.

Go try one out, see if you like it.

I dont really play shred or anything...mostly blues/classic type rock so a fixed bridge is really what I need lol, but thanks for the info!

I actually blocked the tremolo on my strat because it was supposed to "give me more sustain" but I dont think it did. It did give me better tuning stability though when I break a string. The rest stay in tune.

edit: I thought that music man guitars were in the thousands...I never bothered to check the price of one before, but are they all at such a reasonable price? (i.e. 300-400$ Canadian)

OLP ones are fairly cheap... if you go for straight Ernie Ball Music Man they get expensive.

I want that OLP so bad, lol... that's my next axe, or a Dean ML with a Floyd.

When I play blues (rarely, lol) I like to use the whammy to add vibrato to chords... but if you're set on a fixed bridge, go here: http://lamusic.ca/default.asp?nCategory=349&nLevel=4&nPg=1&szSearch=&Filtertype=4

Set so it shows lowest to highest price, that's what I always do... then I search through and find one with everything I'm lookin' for within my budget. Their shipping is fast too, took 2 days for my mic / mixer to come!

Oh yeah, and check Craiglist and Kijiji!
