If you have separate accounts and you store your gear in another location, you are good to go.

It's really quite simple. On the few occasions when I find something to flip for a bit of profit, I surprise her with a getaway and point out that it's complements of my GAS. I've NEVER been questioned about those activities since and, in fact, my gal takes quite an interest in the gear ;)

My hubby is not overly supportive of my addiction.

He did buy me my Gibson SG!

I now need $3500 or so for what I want and need. We have had a few nasty arguments about it so far! I said screw this and am getting a second job to support my obsession and he can't say diddly.

I just want:

Schaffer replica
Tube amp(either a Marshall or an Orange)head or combo
A Extension cab, thinking Traynor dark horse
Another Parker Nitefly (pre 2004)
Gibson Goddess

For the record, my wife has spent more on fitness clothes & gear in the last year then I have on guitar stuffs. Yeah I'm keeping track. Santa's elves are busy working on mine.

My wife was a very good classical guitar player could sight read complicated stuff; both hands walked all over the gitar and she had good pitch and timing. Her guitar was built for her by some guitar builder dude.

I'm just a shit kicker but she never squawked about the price of my guitars or race cars.

My younger self was married to a woman who tried to control me.
My guitars and amps (and motorcycles) were subject to her control.

Or so she thought.

Let's put it this way ... I'm not married anymore.

It wasn't just the guitars and amps and bikes.
It was my very life itself she thought she controlled.
You know that expression?
She's not happy until you're not happy?
Yah, that about sums it up.
I won't live like that, eternally badgered.
Life is too short to waste it with caustic people.

Thankfully, the only 'children' of that short union were a Fender acoustic and a Traynor bass amp.
She got custody of the Fender and I got the rest.
She had already aborted two Hondas in the first trimester(s) but I went on to build a large and happy multicultural family.
In my peaceful family I have Canadians, Americans, Japanese, an Austrian, a German, a pair of Koreans and a lovely woman who has no plans to evict any members of my family.
I am at peace.

I find it best not to hide or be misleading...
But that may depend on the wife as well.
Still I find that best.

And it may depend on what gear you already have when you meet.
