Anyone know any really good guitar techs in the Guelph, KW, Cambridge area? My usual go to is a great guy but unavailable for a few weeks and isn’t all that convenient for me to travel to to begin with, so I’m considering my options.

I hear great things about Mike Spicer in Hamilton but that’s too far out of my way.

Just wondering if there is other pros in my area

Thanks in advance

You might want to consider Mike at Sherwood Music. Unfortunately, not any more convenient than your "usual go to" fellow.

Well, today’s trip was still worthwhile. Nice day to be out sharing coffee with fine company

Unfortunately, your "fine company" of this morning is very embarrassed to admit that he forgot his manners and didn't say thanks for the coffee and scone! Thanks very much!

I think I was distracted and in awe looking at your beautiful Strat ...and in shock about not even thinking about how easy it might be to wire the Casino Coupe through the pickup cavity as you suggested...DOH!

Did you decide on a place to take your guitars to?

Nah, it was my pleasure Dave. And I have no clue if the pickup hole is viable...I’ve never popped a pickup off of a hollow body to know what it looked like below. It was your humbucker trial that made me think of it.

I haven’t come up with a decision yet. I did happen to find a repair shop in Guelph by a net search. It sounds like the owner, Grace is an ex machinist, so no stranger to precision. She has also received some training or been under the tutelage of Mike Spicer and Luthier Sergei de Jonge. I’m considering giving her a shot.

I really quite like my usual go to, but it’s well out of my way, and parking my rig there sucks to be frank. The old location was so much better.
