Finally I saw one on eBay going for a reasonable price and with the Canadian dollar being so strong I jumped on it. My 6V6se arrived today and WOW ! Everything I've read about these amps is true. I'm not even going to try to describe how good the sound is. Words can't describe the nuances and complexities that this amp produces. It leaves me breathless - I'm a pretty big guy and it takes a lot for me to use a phrase like that but I swear I held my breath because I didn't want the sound of me breathing to spoil the harmonic nirvana I was in with just a simple strum of an E chord. And I'm discovering what tone controls can really do with the right amp. It's going to take me a least a month of playing with this little puppy before I really learn what it's capable of but every minute I'm plugged in is a minute of joy I haven't had since I first discovered the pentatonic scale. :rockon2:

They are very cool looking amps. If I spent less time GASSING and more time PRACTICING I may be worthy of plugging into one of those things.

Congrats!

I borrowed these pic's from the Swart web site:

And despite its size this little amp sounds bigger than my Fender Blues Junior. I'm just inadequate to describe how good this amp is. I always thought that writing equipment reviews for a trade rag would be the ultimate job. But now I know how hard a job it can be. I just don't have the diction or vocabulary to do it justice.

Congrats! I haven't heard the 6V6se but if it is anything like my Atomic Space Tone then I can understand your excitement over the amp.

There is something very unique about Swart amps - my AST thoroughly colors the tone of the guitar...in a good way. It is the most non-neutral amp I've ever had and for my purposes is perfect.

I've had Boogies, Fuchs, Bogners, Victorias and some original Fender tweeds...my Swart is the most musical of all of the amps I've ever owned or played through. It sounds great at low volumes and equally exciting, cranked.

Have fun with your's!

Thanks Pauls2.. This has been a truly phenom experience for me. Like I said I read all the reviews... but nothing I read prepared me for the "sound". All of a sudden an amp that has only a volume pot and a single tone pot makes every little movement of my guitars tone and volume pot change dramatically... what my guitar sounds like... This is pointless - you cannot apreciate it till you hear it. Open invitation - anyone near me is welcome to come by and hear it ... PM me.

This looks very interesting. I've been looking at 5F2 derivatives. I even have another thread going on the 5F2. How does it take pedals? (I'm talking about basement use).

I love to plan ahead and change my mind 6 or 12 times on the way.
