Hi everyone,
I know there are Godin enthusiasts out there, and I'm hoping that someone can answer a question I have about pickup hum. I've got an LG Signature and a Montreal, both with humbuckers and five-way switches. I've noticed that the Signature makes a fairly strong hum through my Traynor YCV40WR and my Tweed Champ reproduction, but the Montreal is much quieter, almost silent as a matter of fact. On the Signature, if I touch the selected pickup with my finger, the hum practically disappears. Is this normal? Should I alter the pickup in some way? Incidentally, both guitars sound wonderful, and I could continue playing the Signature as is, but am curious as to the difference.
Regards,
Greg
