Hey there!

Been wondering what`s the Canadian market value for this Gibson LP Custom Silverburst 1979 .

It`s in great shape all around.
Pots ,caps, pickups and bridge been upgraded but I still have the original parts.
There`s the original case too.

Cheers.

Have you checked eBay? Completed listings usually give a good indication of what people will pay.
I would think anywhere from $2,800 - $3,500 and you will be better off returning it to stock before you list.

I sold mine 2 years ago to Chicago Music exchange for 2500$ US. That means, if you are lucky, you will get 2500-3000$ cdn. Or, go through the hassle of getting the CITES certificate and selling it in the US.
The funny thing is 4-5 years ago, for some reason the Silverbursts where going for close to 4k US. I guess the market got overloaded when the prices peaked.
Its a beauty for sure!

Bear in mind that CME probably sold it for $3K USD + though. The value you'll get from a store is not indicative of the street value of what you're trying to sell. Ex: L&M gives you roughly 60% of what they can sell an item for if you're not putting it towards a purchase.

Those are not my thing but I really like the look of that guitar. The gold/orange binding all the way up the neck and headstock give it a touch of class and distinction from what we usually see.

A contoured pickguard with the same colouring on the outside edge instead of the white would have been a nice touch in keeping with the rest of the guitar.

If this guitar came with Shaw’s, it will sell for more then a LP with out them, just keep that in mind when you are trying to compare prices..
