I replaced the Pre-amp tubes...and guess what ?..It is still making some pretty scary sounds..( frying eggs, squealing, pops,) I'm ****in' freaked out here !!I did the pencil test and tapped the tubes with the eraser and got some "Microphonic" reaction on only one tube,I then changed that tube and the symptoms ceased. But now Iv'e got some Squealing happening in there ! WTF ? Do I need to get this baby serviced or what ??? One very Puzzled guy...--L.B.Thanks guys .

Probably one or more of the following: 1. plate load resistors in the preamp section. 2. dirty tube sockets. 3. coupling caps...probably not a bad idea to send it to a good tech. He'll find the remedy:smile:

Are you sure that the latest tube that was put in there is good?

I agree with the last post...it's time for a visit to the tech.

" I replaced the preamp tubes and guess what?" That's your first clue.Get some more tubes or swap them from one socket to the next and see if the noise changes.
Just because a tube is new, does not mean it's good.
