Whoever the management of that orchestra is do not deserve to be management. It was a stupid, and in so many ways, litigable, move on their part. Their request does not meet the legal definition of a bona fide occupational requirement. It did not help that it was phrased in such an insulting way ("not bring attention to their temporary physical/dietary indulgences").

It doesn't help either that the orchestra was a volunteer group. Although that probably saves them from litigation, since no one volunteering was going to forfeit employment or paychecks.

I watched the video and looked up one of the singers. These women are fat? They look pretty good to me. People can just fuck off about weight. Adele ain't no Kate Moss and she's done well in the world of singing. Anyone seen Aretha Franklin before?

I don't know if the percentage is THAT high, but yes, the myelin sheath, commonly referred to as "white matter" is a kind of fat cell that insulates neurons and assists them in conducting impulses faster; a bit like an expressway that can accommodate faster speeds by having no on/off access for great distances.
