Hey hey,

i know practicing guitar is essential to becoming better..

and there are probably a ton of exercises you can do..

but what do most people recommend for crucial exercises to do everyday whether it takes you 15mins or 3 hours..

scales?
chromatics?

my pinky is weak and i have a tough time using it and i want to be able to move around the fret board faster..

Check out John Petrucci's Rock Discipline (the book not the DVD). It's chock-o-block full of great stretching and accuracy drills. And Holdsworth's Reaching For The Uncommon Chord is a great book for stretching (literally and figuratively) your chord shapes in new directions.
I second this, both the book and DVD are definitely worth owning and using. They can be a huge help.
