At first, I was thinking "What the hell is he going on about?" And then I finally noticed the discrepancy between the stated item and the drawn item.

Man, talk about an obscure esoteric joke. But I get it, and it's funny. That may be clinically diagnostic for the both of us.

Fyi, in that diagram over at bigmuffpage, I think R28 should be a capacitor, the ground end not grounded but connected to pin 2 of the volume pot, acting as a bleed cap (treble boost) at lower volumes.
Anyone trying to decipher that schematic is gonna have a rather long day.

I think you are right.
Here they mention it doing the same job as C16 on the sustain pot (treble bleed), but neglect to mention the miswire or the typo. :(
