This is something I've considered doing. My only problem is bad eyesight in my left eye, but I managed to put together a BYOC wah kit reasonably well.
I think I could handle a point to point or simple PCB amp.

Thanks Paul,Paul said:Hey Milkman,
My Stepson built an 18W marshall kit from Trinity.

I liked it so much I had him build me a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe, also from Trinity. If you like, we can meet up and you can see and hear my 5E3. The cost of my complete kit, (chassis, components, tubes cabinet and speaker), was right about $1 000.00 Fender is selling a PTP 5E3 Tweed Deluxe this year that is well over $2 000.00. I've A/B'd my amp with a very sweet original 5E3. While not quite identical, and not quite as sweet, it's 99 44/100 of an original for a crapload le$$.
@mail me: paul at maverickspring dot com. I think you'll be impressed.
Paul said:I get that completely. What you will see/hear is the quality of the kit Trinity provides. The workmanship is strictly up to the builder, but my step-son did a great job, if I do say so myself. The 18 Watt is a smokin' amp. Adam built his with power section switching, (EL84 to 6V6), and he found an Echorette 2x12 with a horn closed back cabinet on Craigslist. He built an attenuator with only a few $$$ of Radio Shack parts. It's a kick-ass apartment building compatible set up.
This is my amp:

I don't play dirty tones. I tend to play dark jazzy tones, with an Epiphone Elitist Byrdland or a 335. My main amp is a Victoria Victorilux with 6L6's The Tweed Deluxe fully cranked gives you some great over the top Neil Young type sounds.
Anyway, you'll get a sense of what you are getting yourself into, should you go this route.

I like Mojo because you already get good Heyboer iron. Add in that I get dealer pricing it's a no brainer for me.
