I just put in an order with www.axeandyoushallreceive.com and will be getting a delay kit along with a few other kits. I think it'll be a fun thing to play around with and if worst comes to worst I know a few people that should be able to put them together for me. It's like Heathkit for guitarists and even if they don't sound that great I should get a lot better at soldering  .

I'll post about my results when I get my first pedal done.

I made a phaser pedal in highschool as a grade 12 electronics project... It worked.. for about a day.. then something happened to one of the components.. (an expensive IC that couldn't be ordered in single units).

Point being:
When you handle DIY Kits, be very careful with the components, and make sure you place the IC's properly. Improper orientation in a circuit can damage the parts very easily, and you'll need to order new parts.
