Hey everyone. Not really sure where to put this but it does have something to do with pedals so...

I've been thinking of buying guitar rig 2 or Amplitube 2 and just wondering are they any good? I don't want distortion(my amp does that) but would it sound good if I did the following setup:

Guitar > Overdrive pedal > Amp(Distortion + Some reverb) > FX loop out to computer jack in - Software(Wah-wah, Phaser, Delay, that kinda stuff) - audio out > FX loop on amp in > Amp speaker.

I have a "Realtek HD audio" audio card.
SO, would it sound good like that? What about GR2 vs AMP2?

Thanks in advance! :rockon2:

Well if it's just for home practise, you could. But pedals are more practical in the way that you can gig and bring them with you.

Get a di-box if you don't already have one, install Asio4all, and download the demos of the ones you are thinking about buying. Do a search for 'free guitar vst' or simply 'free vst' and 'vst plugins' while you're at it. It almost seems as if everybody who has studied software design and plays the guitar has come up with their own plugin that emulates either an amp or a pedal.
