Hey guys! What's the best way to clean White Tolex? I've been told that a simple wet cloth and dishwasher detergent will do the trick, but my amp is still not as clean as I want it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

If mild soap, warm water and a nail brush doesn't do the trick, try some DILUTED Spray Nine. Do a small section at a time, wiping each time with a clean damp cloth until you've done the whole cabinet. Use common sense like unplugging the amp while you 're cleaning and no need to saturate everything, you could and most likely will short something if you get it too wet.

Armor All

Have you tried Armor All.....................I used it with all the amps I've owned and it works well...............but all of these amps were with Black Tolex ...........if you try it on the white......post how it turns out.

I used a 'fine' metal bristle brush with Armour All wipes and it works awesome!

1. Wipe down area with the 'Armour All Wipe' to make damp.
2. While damp, brush surface in circular motion ("wax on, wax off" style).
3. Wipe loosened dirt, and residue with 'Armour All Wipe' also in "wax on, wax off" style.
4. Repeat as desired!

Thanks to everyone who replied to this post!

Krike! I left my albino head and cab under some dirty burlap, and then left it in the barn for a couple of weeks and then put it into a rubber room lined with amp feet and rolled it around for a while. Now it is not quite so white but it sure sounds good.

All kidding aside, once you do get it clean, wipe it down with armour-all. It will look and smell as good as new.
