Hey. Guess what guys and girls... I've decided to finally learn a Christmas Carol after over 30 years of playing. Don't ask. So since my favorite one since I recall is Little Drummer Boy, I'm going to learn that....in some way, shape and form. This is the first one that came up in my "little Drummer Boy for guitar" you tube search. Seems to be some Drop D tuning here.

I'm also a fan of Alex L's version that I heard on Steve Vai's Merry Axemas CD!

Anyone else learning some of these tunes? What are you trying? What's your favorite Carol? Carol of the Bells is my close 2nd.

I used to learn xmas songs with my x-gf, and one of our favorites was this.

We learned quite a few songs off her True Love album - it suited her voice well. And that was one xmas song I could rock up a bit.

Another nice one, if you like jazzy changes (and lots of 'em) is Mel Torme's The Christmas Song (Chestnuts roasting ......). I could never quite memorize that one in the month we spend doing it, and of course, 11 months later, it was like starting all over again. I always needed charts with that one.

And of course, this classic version of Blue Christmas. We've attempted it but never quite pulled it off as well as this version. KLASSIC.
