I fully understand the need to make sure nothing illegal is coming into Canada, but if you open my package, take my speaker apart, not put it back together and lose some screws in the process, you're a joke!! Maybe take some pride in what you're doing and remember that a Canadian citizen paid his hard earned money for that item, not only that, but we pay your wage. Put the f^{^ing thing back the way you found it losers!!

That sucks. I guess the scanner didn't work well on a speaker.

Ahhh, why Cuba?

Sent from my other other brain.
It is not uncommon to miss something or being told that you are not allowed to enter some of stuff and lose them forever, suitcases arrive open or broken most of the times. In other cases they can have you retained for hours until they understand that a pedalboard is not a weapon to kill the big guy or a satellite to receive propaganda... Or ask you for a few hundreds to save you the trouble.

The pedalboard story happened to me, I don't know exactly what where they thinking it was but the satellite was my best guess

I had a Dr Z Route 66 come from the states once which was opened by customs. It arrived with the very expensive KT66 tubes broken off at the bases. Apparently some genius tried to "unscrew" them like light bulbs. Bases were still in the sockets so they just tossed the glass bulbs back in the box hoping I wouldn't notice.

There's no such agency as Canada Customs and there hasn't been for years. Any site referring to it is antiquated.

It's now Canada Border Services Agency.

are you sure they didn't just break during shipping?

I never ship ( or buy amps that are shipped ) with tubes installed. very high probability of broken glass

I know several people this has happened to...crazy

best to remove them, wrap in bubble wrap, and stash safely inside the head cab. or box them

I remember having my car "inspected " at the Detroit border when I in university and going across for the day with a girlfriend to do some shopping and sightseeing....just killing a day...and the agents didn't like that reason for going across....they made such a half assed attempt to put everything back together when they were done...it was like when a 4 yr old cleans up their room.
I don't know if its that theyre so busy, or they re pissed off they didn't find anything, or they know theyre not accountable. maybe a bit of all.

Yeah, well some of us still talk about UIC too. ;)
How did that go again? yes yes yes no yes?
On cards with rectangular holes punched in them if I remember correctly. I still have a punch from when I was on the gov't ski and swim team. I thought it was no, no, no yes,no.
Last time I went thru customs was at Chopaka. Nice quiet little crossing.

I was searched by Canada customs last week ! DidN't have something, can't remember what.

She did a very thorough job. Poor girl. My wife and I have so much survival/emergency/repair gear in the truck.

"You're ready for anything," she said.

We had a nice chat after. She is related to the people who own the farm where my wife keeps her horse in winter.

Everything was put back meticulously.

I think the real joke is that life has become "unreal" for most people. Wait a minute... that aint funny.
