When I used to dry ice blast it was only because the alternative was doing it by hand. I would have about 7 guys up in an attic with a drill in one hand and a 2 foot snake bit with a wire brush attached to the head. We'd be lying down for days on insulation just grinding away. Then we'd have to hand bag the insulation, vacuum and treat the whole attic. It would take between 7 to 10 days depending on the size of the attic and cost over $20K and that was back in 2006/07. Also, I doesn't actually kill mould. It only gets it airborne. You have to deal with it from there. I would have to isolate and pressurize and entire upper floor to a home, because all the contaminated dust would fall through the gaps and leave a layer on EVERYTHING. I tried blasign with the insulation in place to prevent it, but you simple can't blast with insulation there. It turns the attic into a toxic winter wonderland.
Then it went to a contractor grade Concrobium where you had to mix two jars to make a paracetic acid. That was revolutionary, but still a pain in comparison to MMR. You always had to go back a second day to see what you missed (it wasn't instant like MMR) and it didn't work in temps under 10 degrees - so a whole season out the door.
Benz-Alk benz-am has been around since before me. You won't be able to keep the dwell time in an attic in summer and it's a bit pointless. It's also dangerous compared to products like benefect (which works just as well). Also, if you try to use it in an attic, see it fail, and then hire a pro who doesn't know what you did prior ro basic chemistry...they're all going to get very ill when they start making chlorine gas in a confined space.
As
@Rollin Hand realized, I can talk about this shit forever, lol. It feels good talking about it though, since it's been 2 years or so.
