Yes. I had an 18 Watt TMB from Nik and it was an unbelievable value for a Hand Wired PTP amp. They don't come with a cabinet, so when considering a purchase add $200.00-300.00; but, you can get a 100 Watt Plexi clone in a cabinet for around $1000.00 Canadian that is as good, if not better, than any reissues put out by Marshall. I highly recommend them.

My friend brought one over. The quality of components and build was quite good. Cabinet workmanship was also above average. They have a website you can check out. The one I saw and heard was an 18 Watt Marshall clone.
Apparently, if you do the math, it's possible to get a reasonable price tag for these things, and that's including the cost of shipping.

You might already know about Ceriatone is in Malaysia. I have thought about ordering a kit before but wasn't sure about how much it would cost to get it here and I didn't bother to check.

It's about $95.00 US to ship most chassis'. Quite reasonable, and shipping time is about a week. If you order a complete chassis, you're looking at about 3 weeks from build to at your door. Very reasonable. I priced a 50 Watt Plexi clone with a PPIMV and the total cost is $745.00 US. Again, that's without a cab for the head.

It's a toss up between a Trinity 18 Watt Marshall clone or the Ceriatone model. I know that Trinity amps can be purchased is either Complete or built at various stages. Their cost is considerably higher(Trinity Amps), I just can't seem to make up my mind. I've heard excellent things about both companies although I'm a little worried about something from the far east (Ceriatone ) - shipping cost and if there is a problem what to do etc.

Gunny,
Ceriatone makes parts and chassis and such. They offer working amps, but they DO NOT come with cabinets. They use good quality parts but they are totally asian in origin.I have ordered chassis from them but am leary about the long-term quality of the transformers.
The cabinet you say in your friend's amp was made somewhere in Canada, probably by Trinity amps,Tiextera amps or myself.

Your last point is the most important: "...and if there is a problem what to do..."

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in saving every last nickel that we forget about after-sale support. Although any good tech would look after you, he's going to support his own work first. Is there any warranty with this amp? If so, who pays the shipping there and back?

If you take it to a local tech and he finds a blown transformer he'd have to charge you for the part and the work. After all, Ceriatone surely won't cover him for it.

If the pricing is within a case of beer or two I'd go with something in the country.

It's up to you. I just wanted to make sure you understood. It's easy to forget about what could happen after...
