I am in the market for good mid priced Delay and the DD-20 is tops on my list. I am also considering the new Eventide delay and the Damage Control Timeline but these last two are twice the price of the DD-20. I am not sure they are nearly twice as good. I heard some people say the DD-20 sucks tone when its off and others say it doesn't.

If you have tried and not liked the DD-20 , what were some of your beefs about it ?

...i suppose some might consider it a tad sterile. i'm thrilled with mine. you should note that there is a newer version with a couple more presets. i would only drop mine in favour of a dedicated multifx unit like the tc electronics g system.

how did you manage to find pricing on the eventide pedal?

...an excellent question. i DO recall seeing it, and particularly noted that it had six presets instead of four. but, i just checked the (canadian) site, and there is no mention of it whatsoever.
