Hey guys,
Great forum! I stumbled across this by accident and am I glad I did. It's great to have a place to talk to other canadian players.

I'm curious are there are any other Ampeg vl series amp users out there. I have been using one for about 5 years now and I love it. I've never run across anyone else out my way (manitoba/sask) using one. Mine is the VL501 series. It is a great amp. I'd love to pick up another one of these babies (don't care which model) but I never see them for sale anywhere in canada.

I use it as my main gigging amp, and I love the tone and sound that I can get out of her. Great blues to over the top metal.

Anyone else here had experience with these?

Not that series but I have a SJ-12R the blue diamond series and it is great. I've used Fenders,Mesa,Marshall and a few other varieties but the Ampeg holds its own against them. Tried a Boogie F50 and I'll take my Ampeg anyday.

I'm the same way. Lee Jackson designed these amps and they are excellent. I've had marshall players asking me how I'm getting that sound.
