How loud is the amp in that room? Are you running an attenuator? Or a gain pedal? Do tell what your signal chain is.

What kind of '68 plexi is it? Does it have a master volume installed? I'm just asking because a plexi with no master volume needs to be turned up beyond "10" to sound like that.
