  1. The Open Mic (Non Music Related)
Hello all! I know there are some knowledgable folks around here. I am looking to replace a mini switch from an outdoor LED light--It's a very small two position switch with three connection points. Unfortunately, the casing is pretty rusted so I can't really see any info or manufacturing...

An inch long section has flaked off and other areas are rough. Anyone know a good luthier/repair who can patch-in/replace some binding on an early 60's 6120 (and ideally age match it some)?
  3. Effects Pedals, Strings and more
I have a Lovepedal Les Lius that is my favourite pedal of all time and I use it almost all the time. The other day, I noticed that the output was down and then it just died :( I have done some trouble shooting myself and it is not the power supply or the input/output jacks as the bypass...

  5. Guitar Building/Mods/Repair
Hey guys... posted this before and thought I'd try again. I'm trying to gather up and make a database of pickguards and backplates for guitars/basses where those parts are no longer available. Stuff like Teisco, Kawai, Hagstrom, Ibanez, Cort, etc.. Les Paul, Strats, Telecasters, etc... you...

  7. Guitar Building/Mods/Repair
Hi there. I'm having a little problem with the finish of my guitar splitting from the veneer underneath. I was wondering if anyone had any information on if this is fixable or not. I've attached a file from Imgur; Thanks.

Who do you like for custom refinishing in the Toronto / GTA region? I've got a nice '57 reissue Strat that I've enjoyed for a number of years. It shows some wear now. I was thinking of either accelerating the aging process with a light to medium relic treatment, or cleaning it up.
  9. Amp Building/Technical/Repair
The headphone jack works fine on its own, but for whatever reason, the speaker stays on. As far as I can tell, I am the first person to open the amp. All I can figure is to manually disconnect the speaker each time headphones are used. It is possible that I'm just an idiot who missed...

EDIT - I'm looking for suggestions on how to repair this damage, not whether or not to keep it. If it's not repair advice, please don't post. Thanks. Sigh... after all these years, I've finally run outta luck and dinged a guitar. Annoyingly, I was measuring the nuts on 4 guitars to replace...

Does anybody recommend someone in Ottawa/Gatineau that could take a look at my Marshal JCM 2000? It turns out that after playing for a few hours the volume drops considerably. I also want it to be all checked as it’s been a while since the last time.

Loaned my Tele & flight case to a friend last year; here's the result. It's time I fixed it - Any advice on a repair strategy (besides taking it to the shop)? I'm thinking a) a rivet or two (my rivet gun does not need access to the back) b) epoxy c) ? I don't see taking out the case innards as...

Had a couple of "quick" questions... minor things I was debating on for a couple of guitars. First... Squier headstock tree removal. Not a fan of the dual trees, upgrading to staggered tuners so wanted to lose a tree and keep the other. Problem is, the hole left behind. Plan was to get a thin...
  14. Acoustic Guitar
Hey guys, I have a nylon Takamine CP132SC guitar that I love (it's beat to crap, but it was cheap and sounds great), but the old Accuracoustic preamp has always been dead. I managed to find a replacement on eBay, but it too doesn't work well. I've since read that these preamps are not...
  15. Amp Building/Technical/Repair
I'm looking for a cheap heat sink for a 60 watt bass guitar transistor amplifier that I want to restore for a fun project. Judging from the markings on the chassis and the opening where the heat sink once was it was about 8" long and 3" wide. The heat sink should be able to dissipate 60watts...
  16. Amps and Cabs
Hey.. I have two vintage courier amps by FANON. As it stands now, one works and one doesn't. I'm wary of the guy I took it to and don't fully trust his work. The one that doesn't work is the one I love, 280 watt machine. The one that does work I am less in love with because it isn't as powerful...

Hello all just purchased a Royal Deluxe HEG-510. Little known Canadian Co. that went out of business back in 2011. Nice looking and not bad sounding but needs a bit of work. I should be able to handle most of it but might need some help with inlays. When i purchased the guitar it was missing...

First place I'm calling is Super Fuzz Audio, but I'd like to hear other suggestions too. We have that tour coming up and I'd like to send it somewhere today or tomorrow. Anywhere else reliable and affordable? Issue: signal cuts out (sounds like it's being converted to 8-bit), usually with lower...

Anyone know of a source for good tolex in Canada? Some metal cab corners would be nice too.
  20. Amp Building/Technical/Repair
I have a friend down in the states who has a YSR-1 that has been modded to "Plexi" specs. The thing sounds amazing. I have a '68 YSR-1 and was wondering if anyone in Canada specialized in modding these things? Local would be even better :D It's a good sounding amp as it is, although a bit...
