It's Rick Hubka here from Chemainus BC on Vancouver Island. I just retired 3 months ago and it's time to have some fun!!!!

I'm looking for a cheap heat sink for a 60 watt bass guitar transistor amplifier that I want to restore for a fun project. Judging from the markings on the chassis and the opening where the heat sink once was it was about 8" long and 3" wide. The heat sink should be able to dissipate 60watts...
Hi all, I'm starting a new guitar build. This time it's based on the Flying V... more specifically, the shape is that of the ESP James Hetfield signature Vulture model.
Here are some starting specs:
top: bookmatched walnut with sapwood in the middle
neck: laminated sucupira /...
Hi all, I'm starting a new custom Telecaster build. This guitar is for Blair (tomsy49) who's a member of this community. Here are some of the specs and photos of the woods that I'll use.
body: three-piece African mahogany, expected thickness is a bit less than 1.5"
Hey all! So a good friend of mine, and myself, are planning on getting into building our own guitars and I just quickly wanted to ask any of you more educated folk what you would consider to be the basic and most essential tools necessary to make a complete build. Aside from building the neck. I...
I'm embarking on my first scratch build, having done a kit amp at this time last year (build log starts on post 9 here http://www.guitarscanada.com/showthread.php?52818-Anyone-Built-Or-Running-a-TriWatt&highlight=Triwatt ). I looked at a lot of kits from a lot of makers, but then decided to go...
Here we go again.
I've decided to build a clone of a Matchless Spitfire using a kit from Ceriatone.
I opted to source the trannies and choke over here (Classic Tone).
Here's the layout.

I just finished my JTM45 today. Sounds excellent! I bought this as a Christmas goift to myself (I love building amps... didnt need it but wanted it type thing :) )
I was going to buy a Metroamps kit from the USA, but I ended up buying a transformer set and chassis from Trinity amps in Toronto...
Hey all. I've just finished a Weber 6A20 kit so I figured I'd start a thread describing the experience. The amp sounds great. Here's a few pics to get things started.

The rear panel
And the guts
I'll post some notes on the build later this...
I was wondering if any one knows of a Canadian Dealer of tube amp kits. I am pretty handy but don't think I can build one from scratch...a kit would be better. I would prefer not to have to deal with cross boarder issues and fees. Thanks, Jay.
Just purchased the 5A40 head amp kit from Weber over the weekend. The covering will be a double-aged tweed with tan dogbone handle, chrome plate and white lettering. As a tribute to Weber, I'm going to name the amp "Teddy."
The plan is to make a 2 speaker cabinet sporting a couple of...
