Weird how experiences vary. I also hike with mine on top of using them for work. So I am sweating, taking them in and out constantly. In the winter my toque and gator rub on them all the time. Absolutely no comfort issues at all, and the silicone has never fallen off unless I took it off to clean it. I would absolutely buy expensive buds if I felt the need to because they are a work expense/write off in the end. I just haven't had any issues. And, the sound quality is completely fine. I am a big fan of Pixel stuff (used the phones since version 2), but $200 on Pixel buds just wouldn't have much payoff.

These are the ones I have. They work great (a little lag when watching vids) and sound great except for the silicone pieces.

Mine are very similar, but the silicone pieces are different. They are over a year old though and they seem to constantly tweak their models. To the point it's confusing lol.
